日本救急救命士会 会長挨拶
令和６年４月から初代日本救急救命士会の会長を務めている喜熨斗智也です。新たに設立された救急救命士の職能団体の初代会長を務めることは大変光栄なことでありますが、同時に重大な責任を感じております。
平成３年に創設された救急救命士は主に消防機関の救急隊を中心として、病院前での救護活動を行なってきましたが、現在ではその役割は自衛隊、海上保安庁等の公的機関のみならず、医療機関、民間救急、教育機関、その他民間事業など、様々な場・職域に広がっています。私たちは、これら様々な職域の救急救命士のすべての力を結集して、救急救命士の原点である「国民の生命を守る」という使命の達成のために行動してまいります。
救急救命士が直面する多様な環境に対して、救急救命士が自身でその問題を解決し、乗り越えるための力を身につける「自立」と、法律を遵守し、医療従事者としてのプロフェッショナリズムと高い倫理観を持つ「自律」、その「自立」と「自律」の両方を高め、職能をさらに成長させることで、救急救命士自身がより力を発揮することができる理想の制度に変えられる力になると信じています。
初代会長としての私の役割は、様々な職域で活躍しているすべての救急救命士が加入しやすい、また入りたいと思う組織を作り、様々な職域の救急救命士が垣根を超えて尊重し、協力し、平等に声を上げることができるとともにその声を一つにまとめ、一枚岩になることができるように、組織の地盤をしっかりと固めていくことだと思っています。
一人でも多くの国民の生命を救うことができる社会にするために、救急救命士の思いをひとつにして、すべての救急救命士が力を合わせて、理想とする救急救命士の未来を築いていきたいと思います。

A Message from the President
It is my great honor to serve as the inaugural President of the Japan Emergency Life-Saving Technician Association (JELSTA), established in April 2024. JELSTA was founded to unite Emergency Life-Saving Technicians (ELSTs) across Japan and promote their professional development through collaboration and shared learning.
Since the ELST system was introduced in 1991, these technicians have played a crucial role in prehospital emergency care, primarily within fire departments. Today, their work has expanded to include medical institutions, the Self-Defense Forces, the Japan Coast Guard, private ambulance services, and education and research organizations.
JELSTA is committed to fostering the independence and professional autonomy of ELSTs, thereby strengthening both their skills and ethical standards as vital healthcare professionals.
We also seek to build strong international partnerships with organizations and professionals involved in prehospital and emergency medicine globally. Through global collaboration and mutual understanding, we aim to contribute to the improvement of emergency medical care and the saving of more lives—both in Japan and around the world.
